After being deployed since Aug. 23, 2019, with only a two-day visit at Thanksgiving last fall, Navy Lt. Chip Robertson donned the Eagle mascot outfit to surprise his three children at College Street Elementary this afternoon after flying back into East Texas this morning.
“I’m super excited,” Robertson said. “All I wanted to do is to come running in the school to get them as soon as I got back. I just want to spend time with them. I missed them.”
Sadie, 12, and Axel, 5, along with their mom joined brother Cadell at his school where the surprise visit took place in front of the a group of second graders who celebrated with the family. There were more than a few tears of joy shed not only by the Robertson family but also by the Eagle family.
