Smith County 114th District Court Administrator Tammy Camp-Miller was recognized Tuesday for 25 years of service to the county.
“I cannot tell you how much Tammy means to the 114th District Court and all courts in Smith County,” 114th District Judge Christi Kennedy said during Mrs. Camp-Miller’s recognition in Commissioners Court. “There are no words for me to say how much I appreciate everything she’s done for me … Her work for the 114th is marked by quality output, discretion and her hard work.”
Mrs. Camp-Miller began working as a tax clerk for the Smith County District Clerk’s Office on August 13, 1994, when she was 25. In February 1997, she went to work for the 114th District Court as the Assistant Court Coordinator. After a few years, she was moved to the Court Administrator position.
“I truly enjoy my job,” she said. “I have worked for two judges — Judge Cynthia Kent and Judge Christi Kennedy. I could not ask for two better judges to work for! I am truly grateful to both of them!”
Mrs. Camp-Miller said she has enjoyed working directly with District Attorney’s Office, defense attorneys and law enforcement in helping serve the citizens of Smith County.
“It has truly been a humbling experience,” she said, adding that she has no plans to retire.
Nicole Edwards, Administrative Assistant to the Smith County Commissioners Court, was recognized for five years of service to the county.
“I want to say thank you for all that you do for me,” Commissioner JoAnn Hampton said to Ms. Edwards.
Kimberly Fuller, Deputy Clerk for Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace, was also recognized for five years of service to Smith County.
Commissioner Jeff Warr said he appreciated her service to Precinct 2. He said he has always heard good things about Ms. Fuller, who has always been friendly to residents.
