Smith County Clerk’s Office in Annex Basement Closed
The Smith County Clerk’s Office’s Official Public Records Department, housed in the Annex Building basement, is temporarily closed to the public.
Smith County Clerk Karen Phillips said they are working on remediating a flood that occurred in the basement over the weekend. The basement, or lower level of the Annex, houses the County Clerk’s Official Public Records, including land records, assumed names and cattle brands. Public records can be found online at http://smithtx.
