Lindale Band to Perform in First Ever UIL Military State Marching Band Championship

Lindale High School Band will compete in the first ever UIL Military State Marching Band Championship Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Pine Tree High School. The band’s performance time is 3:08 p.m.

For the first time, UIL is separating corps and military style marching bands into separate state contests. UIL is co-hosting the event with the National Association of Military Marching Bands.

“The band students have been amazing,” said Director of Bands, Steven Moore. “They have allowed the band staff to really pick apart the details and improve even the smallest things.  Ultimately, we have just focused on ourselves and tried to improve what we do. In a competition like this, the only thing you can control is how you perform. We are just trying to be the very best we can be.”

The Pride of Lindale has continued to work to improve their marching execution and the playing of their music each day since the UIL Region Contest, where they earned their highest rating for the 46th consecutive year.

“We are excited to march in this historic event and hopefully bring home the first ever UIL 4A State Military Marching Band Championship,” Moore said.
