It is said that February is a month for lovers and it’s also a good time to “love’’ your Lillie Russell Memorial Library.
Library staff members are ready to celebrate this month of love with events for the entire family, including two new events.
On Thursday, Feb. 8 at 11:45 a.m. a live virtual tour of Monticello – the home of President Thomas Jefferson – will be presented.
A guide will lead patrons through our third president’s home while presenting how the author of the Declaration of Independence helped shape our nation.
Pre-registration is required and parents and children, grades 3 and up, are encouraged to sign up.
At 2 p.m. on Valentine’s Day Feb. 14 the Tea and Book Swap will take place. Adults 18 and older are encouraged to come by the Hand Community Room to meet and mingle while sipping tea and swapping books.
The always popular Friday Storytime sessions (9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.) will feature Teeth on Feb. 2; Valentine’s Day, wear pink on Feb. 9; Bears on Feb. 16 and Hibernation on Feb. 23.
