City council approves three annexations

The Lindale City Council held public hearings then approved three annexations into the city limits during its regular weekly meeting on Tuesday (June 18) at city hall.
No one spoke during the time allotted for the public hearing.
Following the public hearings, council members: approved annexation of a parcel of land located at 15592 CR 472 and a portion of a tract located on CR 411; approved a portion of land located on comer of FM 849 and CR 411 and approved a parcel of land located at 15533 FM 849.
In other action, the council
• Approved the final plat to create 26 lots in Newport Trails Phase 1, located on CR 463, approximately one-third of a mile from Lindale Junior High School.
• Approved a contract to add IT services to the city’s Cynergy Technology Contract;
• Heard a presentation concerning health, dental, vision, life insurance and long term disability policy compared to the current Texas Municipal League policy. The council voted to renew the city’s policy with the TML.
• OK’d amendments with MuniServices/Avenue LLC service agreement for sales tax compliance review services;
• Approved the laying of asphalt to the Picker’s Pavilion vendor area as well as adding new electrical locations for food vendors to accommodate for events. Money for these projects will come from the Hotel/Motel fund.
And in a related item, the council approved laying asphalt on the north end of the Kinzie Community Center parking lot at Pool Park for future baseball tournaments.
